New Zealand Registered Psychologist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst
Alexandra (Ale) Held is an NZ-trained and registered psychologist and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Ale is passionate about helping people and works to create an atmosphere where her clients feel comfortable and safe. She helps her clients to develop insight into the distressing patterns in their life and works alongside to identify and empower her clients to create healthy choices and alternatives. She is experienced in working with a variety of challenging behaviors across adults, adolescents, and children in a range of settings, providing a high level of behavioral assessments and interventions. She is experienced in implementing intensive Behavior Support Services, based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. She works from a non-aversive framework to:
increase positive behavior
decrease the occurrence of challenging behaviours.
Following a rigorous assessment, she implements function-based interventions that are individually tailored and can work with families to achieve this in the case of children/adolescents.Ale also works alongside clients in structured therapy sessions to identify what is contributing to their presenting problem and to collaboratively develop practical strategies in order to create meaningful change.

Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to get into a career path that would make a difference in people’s lives. This interest led me to study psychological science and eventually a full time job. As a registered Psychologist and Behaviour Analyst, I am committed to the well-being of all my clients, increase productivity of organisations and go above and beyond to cater to their needs.
I truly care for all of my clients, and work diligently to help give them the skills they require to live a more meaningful life that is in line with their values and achieve their goals. I have worked with a variety of clients dealing with circumstances that are unique to their lives.
